Tesla just announced a new version of the S, the 70D. So it is a cheaper dual-motor Model S at 75k$. It has 329 horsepower, a 5.2 second 0-60 time and obviously, a 70 KW-Hour battery that is said to be good for a 240 mile driving range, at 65 mph. I could deal with all of that.
That horsepower figure has me wondering what the motor mix is here, as neither the big 470 from the P85D or the smaller 188 ones seem to fit. I must have missed a few memos.
But the standard 70k$ “base model” is now gone, so this is the new higher-priced low-end. But hey, three new colors!

This is tempting. I was looking at cars that are around the $50-55k mark, I’d rather have this car. Hmmm....
